The Cattleya Alliance is an enormous group of orchids belonging to the sub-tribe Laelineae, which includes the genera Cattleya, Laelia, Sophronitis, Brassovola, Encyclia, Epidendrum, and many others. The hybrids, collectively called cattleyas, are among the most commonly grown orchids.

Cattleyas are some of the easiest and more rewarding orchids to grow in the home. Cattleyas and their related hybrids come in a multitude of colors, shapes, forms and sizes, many of which produce a lovely fragrance. No orchid collection should be without a cattleya!
